Suspect charged with impersonating police.


Police say that on February 25th at 11:39 a.m. they responded to Eastpoint Mall in the Dundalk area for a report of a suspicious subject.
Officers were met by mall security who had a suspect in their security office that they claimed had been impersonating a police officer.
In his possession, police found an ASP baton attached to his belt, a gold police explorer badge, a portable radio, and a BB gun that was also attached to his belt.
Officers also located a tazer in the suspect’s vehicle. Police learned that the suspect is a member of the Baltimore City Police Explorer Scouts Program. A program that is designed to introduce young people ages 14-20 to law enforcement.

In a news release, police released the following details identifying the suspect.

The suspect has been identified as 18-year-old Savon Shakur Hamilton of the 4400 block of Maple Shade Drive 21213. Hamilton has been charged with impersonating a police officer and possession of an electronic control device. He has been released on $10,000 bail.
