Corrections officer arrested for smuggling drugs.

Police say that a Baltimore County Department of Corrections Officer has been arrested for conspiracy to distribute CDS.
The suspect, identified as 31 year old Melvin Jerome Hodges was released on $35,000 bail.
The Baltimore County Police Department began an investigation in early February after being notified by the Baltimore County Detention Center about possible drug smuggling at the facility.
Police say that they identified Hodges during a joint investigation with corrections officials as a person that was bringing Suboxone into the facility. According to research, Suboxone is a drug used to treat a narcotic (opiate) addiction.
The Baltimore County Police Department is continuing its criminal investigation.
