8 Injured After Ambulance Crash In Dundalk

This evening around 8:10 pm, police say that eight people were injured after a crash involving a Baltimore County Volunteer Fire Department medic unit occurred at the intersection of Wise Avenue & Lynch Road.

4 of the injured were medical personnel, an additional 4 were civilians, including 2 children.  The medic unit involved was from the nearby Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Department, Medic 275.

One of the injured medical crew members was trapped in the medic unit, a medevac was requested to land nearby while crews worked to extricate them. They were flown to shock trauma with serious but non life threatening injuries.

In a statement on the Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Co. Facebook page, the company says the medic unit was being staffed by members of the Lansdowne Volunteer Fire Company so their members could attend their annual awards banquet.

Additional details regarding the collision have not yet been released, stay with us for updates. The Baltimore County Police Crash Team is investigating.
