Police Search For Driver Involved In Essex Hit & Run

County police say that just before 6:30 p.m. this evening, units responded to the 1000 block of South Marlyn Avenue near Deep Creek Middle School for a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.

Once units arrived, they located a five year old boy who had been crossing South Marlyn Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle that fled the scene.

Due to serious injuries, a medevac was requested to land nearby. The juvenile was flown to Johns Hopkins Hospital.

The following info was provided by police.

“The suspect vehicle is described as a dark colored SUV or pickup truck with a cap that should have front end damage. In addition, gold colored vehicle parts were found at the crash scene.”

This crash is under investigation by the Baltimore County Police Crash Team.
