Parkville – Officials say that at 2:26 a.m. this morning, police responded to the 2300 Block of Harford Hills Road for a shots fired call. When units arrived at the location, they met with a man who told them he had just shot an intruder in his home.
Police say that the initial investigation has indicated that the man was in his home when the suspect kicked in his front door and stated “I’m in your house. I’m coming to get you”. The man then armed himself with a handgun and closed the door to the room he was in. The suspect reportedly kicked in the door to the room before the man, fearing for his life shot the suspect multiple times and fled from his home.
When police units arrived they located the suspect in the man’s home, he was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Sources tell us that even with multiple gunshot wounds the suspect was very combative with police while they were awaiting EMS arrival. At this time the suspect faces charges in connection with the incident but has not yet been officially charged. The actions of the victim are to be reviewed by the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office when police complete their investigation.
