Officials confirm that detectives with the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit have charged a suspect after a man was seriously assaulted in Dundalk on July 6th.
Just before 3:30 a.m., police had responded to the 3600 Block of North Point Road for an ‘urgent welfare check’, Police quickly located a 20 year old man lying next to the roadway suffering from what is described as traumatic injuries so severe they were unable to initially interview him due to his condition.
Police say their investigation led them to identify 24 year old Shane Michael Williams of the 8100 Block of Dundalk Avenue as the suspect. He has been charged with attempted first degree murder, first-degree assault, & second degree assault. Williams is now being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
Officials say Williams & the victim knew of each other but a motive for the assault has not yet been determined.
